When I first heard of this book, I was expecting to know more about what happened to the dinosaurs. However, as the book unfolded, I realized that the book had more to say than that! This book has helped me to understand more and I was impressed with how the author used the holy scriptures to explain things about the curse of the dragon, the Garden of Eden, and the devil or Satan. I always knew that something just didn't make sense about what I had previously learned, but I didn't have what I needed to know for sure as a Christian. "God Reveals a Mystery" is a great book to read!

What is a reasonable Marketing Budget

for a book launch?

 

  Plan to spend $2.5 to $12K before and during the first three months of your book’s life.  If you get an advance on your manuscript, I recommend spending the whole amount on marketing your book. 

Line item expenses in a prep & launch budget might include research & fact checking, editing, indexing, illustrating, cover & interior design, web design, optimization, & maintenance, distribution, shipping, travel, publicity, and advertising.  If you need media training or a public speaking coach, include that.  If you are independently published, add in book fair and industry conference fees, book award submission fees, exhibitor costs, and presentation equipment.

An author’s Online Presence is absolutely crucial in today’s book market.  Internet book sales have risen 18% year on year since 2002.  For this reason, each author needs a web site that pulls incoming traffic from people who are searching on the book’s issues, title, and author name. 

The internet is so dynamic that each year the way to attract customers on the superhighway seems to morph.  Right now it’s social networking and backlinking. Perhaps 12 million Americans now keep a blog because they’ve learned that updating it every couple of weeks will maintain or lift their page rank.  If you are facile with a computer, use search engine optimization (SEO) tools to discover high ranking keywords, and then repeat those throughout your web site, blog and press releases.  Seek a web designer who is both imaginative and good at taking direction, while exhibiting a proficiency in English, design, programming, SEO, and business.

Finally, if you cannot define your book’s Audience and Platform, your book will never get off the ground.  To market your book, you must be able to distill its issues and know who and where your readers are and how they search for information. Create your log line to attract them and prioritize your first year plan so that you fully fund and lead with the strongest device in your platform.   

Don’t end up in the slush pile!  Spend time and money with your editing team, a book designer, an SEO guru, and a publicist, so your book is more likely to remain competitive among the 200,000 titles released in America each year.

What can you do now to be a BRAVE HEART:

1. Don't be afraid of your shadow. Trust in God and build up your faith. Be strong and take courage. Do not be dismayed even though things seem hard and tough - know that you have God with you wherever you go. Just only believe.

2. Smarten up and sharpen up. You have to put in the time to learn. You have to train, prepare and get your groove back. Learn technology. Integrate, automate and delegate tasks where you can.

3. Figure it out. Information is power. Quit saying you "don't know" and go get your Google search on. All the information you need is at a click of button on your computer. The more you know, the more you grow and this increases your confidence.

4. Be bold. Be fearless. Be willing to take risks. You have to risk to win. No one who is living large ever did so by going the safe route. Get out of your comfort zone. Quit being "shell shock" and get some CHUTZPAH, some gall, some nerve. Some audacity!

5. Believe in yourself. Know your worth and demand your value. Keep dreaming big dreams, doing your vision board and saying your affirmations. Who cares what others think or what they don't do for you? Be true to yourself. Stay on your path and stay excited about your goals - no matter what.

6. Keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. If you have to stop to rest, rest in the Lord. He will give you strength. Don't panic - know God has a plan. Keep doing your part - and know God always come through. He is our "Superman."

7. Have a coach or mentor that pushes you. Have a network that celebrates you. Know what type of people to stay away from and know who you need to show more gratitude towards. Who you hang are around is who you will become. Don't "friend" everybody and follow only those who "get it" and are going places, believing God for big things.
